It was in 1992 that ACUSA was founded by the Antiqueños in California. Since then, this association has relentlessly served its members and the province of Antique. This is, indeed, a story of success.

The ACUSA has changed its set of officers every two years per provision in the constitution and by-laws. It has changed its officers five times during this past decade. There had always been a smooth transition during these changes because the new officers were always willing tocarry on thework that has been so well started by their predecessors. This has become a tradition for this association, a move that has been applauded by people here and there.

As the officers for 2002 - 2004 accept the responsibility of their respective positions, there are shades of inspiration that will lead them to carry on the good work and to do more for the members, the community, and the province of Antique. The previous administrations will undoubtedly serve as models for this new one. The immediate past administration led by Fel Moscoso did a very good job in expanding services of the ACUSA to the province of Antique. The scholarship program for the needy and deserving students of Antique has been an outstanding accomplishment. The two-room donation to the Angel Salazar Jr. Provincial Hospital in San Jose has been hailed by the Antiqueños. Of course these projects were realized because of the combined efforts of the officers and the whole membership.

As the years go by, going to the next anniversary, let us continue to join hands and initiate more projects that will make positive impacts not only for us here in America but also for the people of Antique. Our assistance is always appreciated especially because it makes a lot of difference in the lives of the recipients. One ACUSA scholar was very thankful after finishing a college degree and got a good job and this was all because of our valuable help. Many others will follow because of ACUSA.ACUSA celebrates its 13th birthday.

Thirteen, do you remember when you were 13? A teenager, full of promise and expectations! That is how ACUSA is - young in years but bursting with enthusiasm and love. I marvel at the officers when we meet to discuss projects for Antique. They come armed with brilliant ideas. Led by our energetic President, Dr. Quirico Escaño, ACUSA has come up with yet another idea. This year’s fund-raiser will benefit different towns of Antique. Your solicitation will be counted in favor of your town. This year’s ACUSA QUEEN 2005 favors San Remigio. The funds will then go to San Remigio. A committee will submit project studies in our next meeting.

Congratulations, ANTIQUE CIRCLE (ACUSA) U.S.A. on its 13th Anniversary!

Accolades go to the parents of the muses for graciously accepting the challenge of soliciting ads, selling raffle tickets and inviting guests to our Anniversary. We truly appreciate your consent to have your daughters participate in this event. What makes this occasion extra special is the fact that the ACUSA QUEEN 2005 hails from Las Vegas, the Entertainment Center of the World. Rannah Antonnette Nietes-Alcalen is the daughter of Annafe Nietes and Ralph Alcalen of San Jose, Antique and Dao, Antique, respectively.

To the officers and members of ACUSA, MORE POWER!
